Descrizione
La dimensione della calotta varia tra 19 mm e 88 mm. Il colore della conchiglia è bianco, fiammato in modo irregolare longitudinalmente, formando due (o talvolta tre) larghe bande interrotte. La spirale del corpo è un po' gonfiata, arrotondata nella parte superiore, striata sotto. La guglia è striata. Come tutte le specie del genere Conus, queste lumache sono predatorie e velenose. Sono capaci di "pungere" gli umani, quindi dovrebbero essere maneggiati con cura o evitati.
Diffusione
Questa specie marina è presente nell'Oceano Indiano al largo del KwaZulu-Natal settentrionale, in Sud Africa e nell'Africa orientale; dal Golfo del Bengala a Indonesia e il Giappone.
